In Texas you must have family practice and neuroschience subjects in your medical school transcript. If you don't have them, you would need to get an an official leter from your medical school explaning why you didn't take family practice and what courses were taken instead of family practice and neuroscience. If your medical school is included into this list, you would have less problems with getting licensed in TX http://www.tsbme.state.tx.us/professionals/docinf...

hi yelenatx, thanks for ur reply I called a couple of programs in texas and they have not heard of this requirement....is it asked by ALL programs or a few? Also,in our med school,we dont have a 'family med' dept......we have obgyn and gen.medicine...do u know whether having done rotations in these 2 depts is adequate substitution? thank u very much!
