His Hb A1C is 7.1 His stool for occult blood shows: negative negative positive what is the next step in management A. colonoscopy B. repeat 3 samples of stool occult blood C. Increase his metformin from 850mg TID to 1000mg TID D. review his diet and exercise and blood glucose levels at home and re-evaluate at next visit ___________________ It is not your aptitude but your attitude that determines your altitude in life

Dtool positive for occult blood in a pt > 50yrs is Cancer until proven otherwise! It is not necessary to repeat 3 more samples. HbA1c <7 is normal.
