Hi all, I'm in my final yr and I've decided to take Step1 before I graduate, I hope to sit for my exam sometime during July or August 2006. I plan to start studying mid November which should give me about 6-7 months, that's enough prep time right? I've been hanging around this forum for some time and I've gathered that the basics are Kaplan Lecture notes, FA, Qbank and NBME which is basically what I plan to do in addition to Kaplan Videos. If time allows me to do more I'll take a look at some extra books like HY series and goljan pathology review. Things will start out slow and i'll end up increasing my hrs the closer I get to my exam date. If things go as planned then my rate should be 2-3hrs at first then gradually increase to 7-8hrs 2 months prior to my exam date. I'm not quite sure if I understand the system that well but inorder to apply for the match in 2008 I'll have to finish both steps by mid 2007 correct ? That should give me ample time prepare for step 2CK April-May 2007. Some ppl have actually advised me to take Step2 first, Im not sure if that is the right thing to do and others have advised me to wait til I graduate. Feedback from previous USMLE takers would be appreciated. Migs
