could someone tell me why ESR is low in Congestive Cardiac failure?
thanks,
Meghna

in CCF the perfusion of renal tissue decreases so RAA system works,ADH increases  extracelluler fluid volume increases  incresed sytemic venous pressure  intravascular fluid moves to the extravascular compartman (hepatomegali, pulmoner congestion, assit) HTC inc. :!: decreased perfusion  erytropoetin syntesis increases  HTC inc. İnc. HTC  dec. ESR because RBC are negative and they try to be away from each other  İ hope this helps..
