How can you prevent an Early Onset Group B Streptocc. Infection in a neonate?? Which are the recommendations???

prophylactic penicillin/erythromycin to the mother just before the labour!!!confused

specifically as per my sources its i.v penicillin intrapartum wink

yes, penicillin 4 hrs before the delivery nod

I think preventing PRETERM delivery is the best way to prevent Neonatalsepsis(NS).

Almost 95% of all preterms, IUGR, infections during pregnancy, LBW, problems during Labour acquire NS even admited in NICUs.

Anywez itz only 5-10% chance to the NN not to acquire Str.infec. after prophylaxis.
