1 - thymus

2 - depends on what exactly do you think:
if you think about the stomach itself, then gastric superficial mucous cells are those that produce alkaline mucus (both mucus and HCO3-) in order to form mucous-bicarbonate barrier which protects the stomach mucosa from low pH and is located between the stomach mucosa and HCl; but if you think about neutralization of chyme in duodenum then the answer would be the secretions of Brunner's glands (alkaline mucus) in the duodenum, NaHCO3 from bile, and NaHCO3 from pancreatic juice

Thymus regresses in the adults, sup vena cava forms by two brachiocephalic veins, so can sup vena cava be the answer? brachiocephalic vein was not in the answer choices.

if the age of the pt. is not specified, then answr must be thymus, even in adults thymic remnants remain along with some fatty mass, so thymus shoud be the answer!
