Hey Guys..

I am actually sort of out of place here as I am still giving my step 1 but please correct me if I am wrong.

I thought the most common lesion clinically encountered in adults with RF was MR. According to Goljan, it takes about 10-yrs of repeated attacks of RF to give rise to an MS lesion.

Thanks,

At the first attack of rheumatic fever, the the vegetations occur along the line of closure edge, often leading to regurgitation murmur

With recurrent attack of RF, the valve leaflets undergo repair by fibrous tissue & dystrophic calcification, resulting mitral stenosis & less commonly regurgitation ( Goljan pathology )

It does not mean that in pediatric patient, most common valve disease is mitral regurgitation, because even a child can get chronic, recurrent RF so he get mitral valve stenosis

In aldult is is certain that MS is the most common valve disease in RF
