Hey Everyone! What do you guys think is a better book to study for the USMLE for the microbiology part...Made Ridiculously Simple or the book by Jawetz?? Like which one is best to help you do well on the Microbiology portion on the USMLE?? I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know! thanx!

Levinson's 'Medical Microbiology and Immunology', 2004, (Jawetz was his coauthor, but he died) is much more comprehesive, torough, complete and up-to-date, than MRS, plus it has immunology part also. Only drawback is that it may be time-consuming. Only plus of MRS is very good and entertaining mnemonics, some of them are not working though. If your aim is very high score on step 1, I can recommend Levinson + 'Kaplan Lecture Notes: Microbiology'.
