Sorry, here is my explanation: Beta-oxidation produces after each cycle: _1 FADH2 and 1 NADH= 2+3 ATP after the ETC _1 acetylCoA= 11 ATP after TCA cycle and ETC 16 ATP per cycle x number of cycles required: 16x7= 112.

you mean one cycle involve 2 C so 7 cycles r required here ????

Sorry, actually it is 6 cycles but the number of acetyl-CoA is 7. And the reaction uses 2 ATP to activate C14 So C14:0 7 acetylCoA x 12 ATP(3NADH+ 1 FADH+ 1GTP) in TCA +ETC = 84 ATP 6( NADH+FADH)=6x5 in ETC = 30 ATP -2 ATP for activation Total= 84+30-2= 112 I hope I got it right this time
