Guys, How do you differentiate between a Hirschsprung disease and a Cystic fibrosis during the first 24 hours of life of a neonate (obviously) or during the first weeks or months??

i think the clinical presentation during the first 24 h at least is very similar, isnīt it. PLEASE ANSWER, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY REPLIES.

1. JAUNDICE is obvious in cysticF. during 1st week..while in hirshp. no jaundice..

2. Resp.Dist.+ in C.F. but not in H.D.

3. Rectum is empty in H.D., while Meconium is stained in C.F. perRectum.

hope this will help U
