Meconium ileus is suspected when there is a failure to pass meconium in the first 24-48 hours. Dx with X-ray with gastrografin or enema-shows filling defects in the ileum, cecum. Tx in most cases is conservative with stimulation of the rectum, colon, or with enema. It is a manifestation of CF.
