Should a 14 yo girl sexually active for last 3 months have pap smear or not ? Ur views please....

yes.pap smear has got nothing to do with age.either 18 yrs or whenever a girl is sexually active.if that is at 14 then she should ahve pap smear then.

yeah ,i agree, she needs a pap smear.

hey guys i am here to throw some light on the issue- acc. to american cancer society guidelines pap smear -annually within 3yrs after first vaginal intercourse or no later than age21. but acc to united states preventive service task force-every 3yrs beginning at onset of sexual activity.now i dont know which one the step 3 (fsmb)will consider. buti still think she should have a pap smear atleast as a baseline.

its usually USPSTF guidelines that are accepted and followed.

hi there is clear recommendation on performing pap smear: -3 years after sexual intercourse or at the age of 21y whichever come first(this is the latest recommendations not 18y or juste after sexual course) the perdiode of three years is the average time necessary to developp a dysplasia if any and to avoid unnecessary test for false positive tests
