It is one of the parts of heart cycle.
Phases of heart cycle:
1. isometric contraction
2. ejection
a. fast ejection
b. reduced ejection
3. protodiastole
4. isometric relaxation
5. filling
a. fast
b. slow (diastasis)
c. presystolic (due to contraction of atria)

Protodiastole is the moment of retrograde blood flow (when pressure in aorta is higher than in ventricle, so blood starts moving retrogradly i.e. from aorta to ventricle and that portion of blood closes aortic valve and causes sound S2); it shows the beginning of relaxation so clinicians treat it as a part of diastole

It is part of ejection when aortic pressure is greater then ventricle but still blood is passes to aorta due to momentum of blood.....KA protodiastole....

It is part of systole not diastole.....
