A 4-year-old boy presents with severe pains in both of his legs. Acute lymphocytic leukemia or lymphoblastic leukemia????

can you please explain why the lymphopenia? usually ALL has leukocytosis

accumulation of immature cells in the bone marrow supress normal activity of marrow.....this leads to pancytopenia.....as abow picture....

pancytopenia also occur in aplastic anemia...but in children ALL is more common..

so if i get you right, you are trying to say that....

initially there is leukocytosis, which eventually becomes leukopenia. is that what you mean?

I think the answer is A. Patient has pains in the legs (some pts refuse to walk) also supports the Dx.

A..age with hpspmegaly and leg pain usually limping child is seen. Ap Anemia may have some ppt factor and Q Stem lacks any such info.

in ALL, approx 1/3 of patients have normal leukoc , 1/3 increased and 1/3 decreased.
