Parasympathatic effect on heart is dec: contractility...dec: heart rate..thru vagal stimulation...... In bainbridge reflex vagal stimulation cause inc: heart rate.....how??? explain in detail????

Bainbridge Reflex- aka cardiovascular reflex, Right Heart reflex -causes acceleration of heartbeat following the stimulation of local muscle spindles when blood pressure in the venae cavae& right atrium is increased.

it is involved in maintaining blood pressure, when preload is increased - it increases heart rate in order not to allow excess blood accumulation in heart; Ganong says that neither its physiological significance nor its exact mechanism are understood, he also says that it is probably a true reflex because it is abolished by bilateral vagotomy. Ganong also thinks that Bainbridge reflex competes with baroreceptor reflex because their roles are opposite

how vagus has both tachycardic & bradycardic effect???? it is pure parasympathatic nerve....

I don't know, maybe it is inhibition of vagus which is responsible for tachycardia (receptors decrease vagus activity so increasing heart rate)
