i am registered for ste2ck for the month of october but most likely will postpone it til nov. cs on the 1st of nov. have joined kaplan centre prep and done watching madicine tapes, obg tapes and staretd with epidemiology. havent really read or tried to mmorise the notes yet. only the tapes. staretd with it. mrd kaplan qbank and qbook. plan to simultaneously do usmleworld and keep kaplan qbank for the last i.e. if i find time. so thats about it and hazel as i have posted somewhere else i am in the same boat as far as the match process is concerened cause have no idea how to do it.!!! so lets keep each other posted if we come to learn something about it. hey , a note to the senior members and all those who are done with this gruelling experience of matching: please let your wisdom fall upon us. thank you

Hi youll, seems like everytime I get desperate I come to the forum and its so wierd - seeing everyone else in same boat calms me down, wierd human psychology. I will also have to postpone to november - my 3 yr old was sick and I could'nt study for 3 days so now am starting again. Be brave everyone, this is so hard but we'l also look back at this time soon. Doc-2004 I also got the same mark in Step 1 so hoping to do better in Step 2, but one can only hope and pray. looks like u have all the right material and plans though so good luck to you and everyone else here. If nothing else these exams are making me religioous - some good in everything!

i am from india pankaj and i am sure so r u. i was going thro the eras website the other day and it made me nervous. it looks toughere then step2ck prep.!!!! lots of documents are required and all the diplomas and transcrips that we sent to ecfmg have to be resent. its an utter confusion, nrmp, eras token, god knows what they are talking about!!! i am going to wait till i find somebody who has done this in person and then go ahead and apply. for the time being back to kap. notes. keep ot kool and keep it coming guys...

I'm from India too. ERAS is absolutely hell. i probably sound very stupid but I'm so confused about the applications and match. OK we have to complete our apps online at ERAS, but I thought the apps were sent to programs in the match process in Feb. Then I read some posts on the forum and they're asking if Sept 15 is too late to submit apps to the programs? So, can u tell me whats happening? Lets help each other out guys, blind leading the blind and all that but we should muddle through somehow. i went on the Oasis site yesterday and requested an ERAS token becos without that one can't even start the app process and I thought I better start writing a statement at least. i've been requesting forum for a sample personal statemnt and i get one will pass it on to you - please do the same. Also do you have any sample LOR's? Thanks

sorry for posting late in here..had some work to do here...yes i agre this ERAS is beyond me too...i dunno how to go abt it here as well...heard abt FREIDA's online..tht u search there for programs..or IMG experts...and search for progs..but $25 for each tht's a lot..as for token i dunno when to get tht...coz in my case there is a visa prob...too much at stake for this 2006... coming to CK...i had initially planned 50 pages per day...thus this makes 3 weeks of study from kaplan books...in between i was planning to average atleast 50qs per day first from QBOOK and then dunno kinda split between Qbank and UW...might do QBank first as i have heard they r a bit easier..and UW correlate well with CK..thus tht during the following weeks...for CS was thinking of kaplan too...but i think once when thru with int. med then i shud plan for it...and maybe give it 2-3weeks straight and get over with it soon ..all in all let's make it for 2006...just plan and keep each other posted..together i am sure we could make it ... i am aiming for an IM slot...so let's see... as for my own personal prep..psychy i am thru with one read...done half of gynae and abt 1/3rd surg... from step1 experience i have learnt tht to solve papers is the key and the more u prolong the exam the more relaxed i get..thus need to be on my toes all the time...wud do one read..and do questions from QBOOK and QBANK and then then while completing QBANK wud start with another read and complete UW and just simply sit for the exam in nov... but to me the ERAS and match is more of a headache than the actual exam itself

i think the ideal time is the 1st of septenber but not always the right time. having all scores especially the stepp1 and ck is imp. nevertheless i am still not able to make up my mind whether to apply for this year or next. then i feel that lets apply this year and if nothing works out including the post match scramble then there is always a option of 2007.
