HI, bbb I just recently registered at this site , mainly because I would like to ask you some questions. I am an IMG .The problem is that I graduated in 1998 from one of the russian universities. And right away moved to Florida.I did not take any recidensy in Russia and have no medical experiense since then. Couple of years took to learn english. Then I struggle with the USMLE exams.Took Step 1-----3 times.(2 times came very close, but did not passe) Third time passed with 86/212 score. Took Step 2---failed once. Now preparing to take it again in September 2005.(will pass it this time). Please , tell me sincerely if I have any probability of finding and being accepted for IM residency programm ? And if "yes" what can I do to increase my chances? Thank you for your time Yelena PS: If there is anyone in similar to my situation, who after failing tests many times was accepted to the residency----------------I would love to hear from you!!!!

There is somewhere for everyone, but such places can be hard to find. You should try applying widely, and making direct individual contact with residency programs by letter and phone. If there is someone who can call on your behalf (MD etc) that can really help. There's more info at www.internationaldoc.com CGR

There is always a chance. We've taken people 10 years out, with no medical experience during that time, just learning the language and studying for the exams. This person is now in their third year, and one of the most popular residents in the class!
