I was told that all residents are required to pass ACLS test before they start their residency. Also, I was told that you can improve your application by having passed this test. Does anyone know any details about it? Who administers this test? How do we prepare to it?

Before everyone runs out and takes this, ACLS usually has to be taken in the USA. In 14 years, it's never been mentioned as a way to strengthen an application. It's usually put on by the American Heart Association.

Why is it that the opening profile of the Residency Application asks you if you are ACLS certified? What do we make of it? Isnt taking the 2 day course and saying Yes better than another No? Any comments?
