To get a B1/B2 visa, itīs useful and/or important to show them you have US links (in this case, your wife and child) and that will help you to get your visa without any trouble.

If ur wife is permanent resident then y not go on immigration visa. Also talk to someone experienced regarding revealing your US links for vsitor visa.It can go against you even if it is your wife.

if you apply for an immigrant visa through your wife's petition, it will probably take you years before you finally make it to the US! i have some classmates with families in the US who have petitions filed on their behalf, and when they applied for tourist visa to take the step2-CS or visit their family in the US, they were denied. because the consuls think that you have a good reason to stay there for good. remember that the most important thing to show the consul is that you will have a reason to LEAVE the US before your visa expires!

Take my advice - don't conceil them anything because they already have all the informations of you in their database. So lying to them or concelinig things is the best way how NOT to gain visa for ever. Tell the truth - remember they already know everything
