A 35-year-old woman consults an ophthalmologist because of double vision and droopy eyelids. She also has complaints of generalized muscle weakness. IV injection of edrophonium dramatically, but only briefly, reverses her symptoms. Why I said was that, because constant stimulation of receptors in both cases leads to receptor desensitization.

I am not sure, I am a Step 1 student. dont mind.

the answer is in kaplan step 1 immumonlogy section- hypersensitivity chapter last page table.

it has all the 4 types of hypersensitivites and there examples. i am sure one can find the answer there. just see the column that has myaesthenia gravis. i am not sure since i do not have my step1 books but as far as i recall it is d.m2 and not sle as i stated before.
