This is my first posting..............
passed cs (houston) ..result in 43 dyas...on july 13.
dont waste many weeks on reading several books...
get comfortable with PAMHUGS FOSS LIQOR AAA format and concentrate on DD"S...
MUST DO...
1.before entering the patient room..write all these on the note pad....patient name,abnormal vitals,PAM HUGS..AAA on the right side vertically....think of few DD's for the case n write down...remind ur slef regarding counselling.(45 to 1 min)....if ur not ready with these u will not perform well..so dont worry about the time...u will do excellent once u go in.
2.enter by following all basics and keep ur self cool,boldn professional.ask all PAM...and atleast one question about each DD. ..AND IF ANY CONCERNS to the patient.
3.physical exam ...very least priority..do it as fast as possible with out ANY GROSS ERRORS(3-4min)
4.keep some time at the end..ending is MORE imp than phys exam...COUNSEL relevantly.
...U PASSSED.............thats true ..take it..
for practice..PAM..HUGS....get comfortable with the format, physical exam once and few full cases for timea djustment.thats it...yeh practice once all systems patienst note(4)..
i prepared for 13 days....coz no timemore than that.
read USMLE WORLD ALLCASES,first aid challenging questions(very useful),i like the kaplan PAM HUGS format....(transitions)..practiced only 6 cases on others..remaining self practice..
if u can speak a lill bit good thats enough for the exam with these tips.

Hi Brocas, congrats, those are really valuable tips....
One question to ask if u can help me plz. Which book should I read for CS, I just want to buy and read only one book, Plz help me out in this regard. I'm v. confused. Thanks

dr.sar,
As i have all the books for CS and analyzed..i will recommend you to buy usmleworld and read all the cases ....just concentrate on masterizing the PAM HUGS...even when u wake up from sleep u should be able to ask the format with out forgetting anything...then have a good overview of all DD's.....
If u ask all PAM..and can have DD with you you can enjoy in the exam.
Apart from these if u have access to first aid reveiw the pediatric cases..all the questions we have to ask...then challenging questions....all patients asked me challenging questions and some are very strange....some hoe i answered them appropriately..so be ready for that..
