hi, everyone, I am a IMG graduated in 96 and I am just starting to prepare for my USMLE. I am planning to match in in 2005 since it is too late to start 2004. Can somebody tell me 1.whether I need to summit my diploma prior to apply for USMLE or I can do it together? 2. I have Kaplan note of 2001 and question CDs of Q-bank, IV Qbank, BSS CDs only, NMS and A&L CDs. I also have kaplan webprep of which I almost finished half. Is it enough to prepare step 1? Do you have any suggestions for me to make a better use of them? 3. Given the fact that I am gonna apply 2005, what is the schedule you recommand me to finish the process? Thanks

hey there. There's several ways for you to apply. You can do it either through mail or internet. I advise you to do it through internet. I did it, and it was easy, it took me around 1 hour to complete the application. You can log in the ECFMG page and it would tell you what to do. http://www.ecfmg.org/ the diploma has to be translated by a certified translator, I can't tell you in US where to do it, since I did it from back home. You have to submit a copy of your diploma with the translation along with a signed statement that has to be notarized right after you fill your on-line application. Its a fairly easy process. Good luck and contact me if you have any questions! Connico
