area postrema(vomiting) organum vasculosum of lamina terminalis(chemosensory) subfornical organ(regulation of body fluids/osmolarity) posterior pituitary and median emminence(release oxytocin, VP) ?pineal gland

The circumventricular organs (CVO's) are midline structures bordering the 3rd and 4th ventricles and are unique areas of the brain that are outside the blood-brain barrier (BBB). These barrier-deficient areas are recognized as important sites for communicating with the CSF and between the brain and peripheral organs via blood-borne products. CVO's include, 1) the pineal gland 2)median eminence, 3)subfornical organ, 4)area postrema 5)subcommissural organ 6)organum vasculosum of the lamina terminalis. The intermediate and neural lobes of the pituitary are sometimes included
