Thank you for your kind words. I wish you all luck for your upcoming exam. I studied for 6 months. intensively in the last 2. I only studied kaplan and managed 3 reads for most subjects I studied biochemistry and most of physiology 4 times. I also used FA. this book is a MUST. after the first read from kaplan you should have it by your side and add extra points in it. after the first read I did Qbank ,first random and after a while I switched to systemwise. i highly recomend doing Qbank systemwise. this is the only way to expand your knowledge in a certain subject. I finished Qbank with an average of 70-75%. I took Nbme1 2 weeks before my exam and scored 640(247/99). I took Nbme2 one week prior to my exam and again scored 640. the last 2-3 weeks are VERY VERY important, and I honestly think has the most influence on your score. this is the time that FA becomes IMPORTANT. review, review, review. is very important you can review questions and you can review kaplan and know FA inside out. I can't comment on my exam too much. all I remember is PATHOPHYSIOLOGY!! every other subject was just randomely thrown in between pathophysiology questions.very little anatomy, biochemistry, and micro. pharmacology was alittle more tested. My exam was totally clinical! Remember all tests are different .this is just my experience. Oh ya almost forgot I listened to goljan and read Goljan rapid review series. I recommend them both. finally, some words of knowledge. Believe in yourself and set your goals, and do all it takes to achieve your goals. It takes HARD work to prepare for this test. but a good score is not out of reach for anybody. with hard work and perseverence a top score is yours. Good luck to everybody

do you mean kaplan notes pathology? no, not at all. goljan is enough. the clinical orriented format of Goljan is more appropriate for step 1 than kaplans. also in qbank, dont worry too much about the microscopic pathology changes in different disease. it's not too high yield and not tested so much on the actual exam.the pathology section in FA is also very high yield. good luck

dear karusmle: don't expext to know or remember everything. some subjects need around 3 reads to finally become part of your long term memory. I remember having the same problem especially with biochemistry. so I made memory cards. on small pieces of paper I wrote a question and on the other side i wrote the answer. this helped alot. but you must realize that biochemistry is a vast subject and only the clinical relevent information is high yield. know every enzyme that causes a syndrome or disease if deficent. also read first aid after each subject. it works as a good memory aid for a quick review of the high yield information of that subject and you can go back a read again from kaplan the stuff you feal weak at. FA has some good mnemonics in biochemistry that will help alot. don't worry, these feeling are normal. you'll do fine good luck

to lily11: by both of them I meant listen to the goljan audio and read goljan rapid review. to rapport: Goljan rapid review is 460 pgs including questions( ISBN:0-323-02393). if you use this book, there is no need for taking notes because this book has everything. I have heard that any of the goljan pathology books are good. and they have the same format and information. about the other subjects,I used kaplan and they were totally suficient. I think for anatomy "road map: anatomy" is also very good although I did not use it. good luck

thanks for the kind words: karusmle: since U still have a few months till your exam, it might be a good idea to take a break from studying for a couple of days and clear your mind. you appear to have a lot of stress. to rapport: for physiology kaplan is great and there is no nead for BRS. for molecular biology kaplan is also the best. cell biology I did not study. as for Behavioral science the most important topic is doctor patient relationship, I only read kaplan and did Qbank and on usmle my highest marks where for BS. To Female doc ny: thanks for the kind words. believe me luck has very little to do with getting a good score. Hard work and Perseverence are the major determining factors for scoring well. I must tell you that the Qbank score has little correlation with your usmle score. use Qbank to learn the subjects not to test yourself. I would recommend you work on your physiology. although not to many direct questions from phys on the exam, mastering phys is very important to answering pathophys questions. 2 months is alot of time. review kaplan 2 more times epecially phys and review path from goljan. altogether if you manage 2 more reads you are in good shape. good luck
