Hey everyone! I'm currently in Medical school taking Pathology. I'm reading Stars Pathology by Goljan(big book and then the review book for questions) and I like reading it. I tried to read the big Robbins book=Basis of Pathological Diseases. But it is taking me forever to read it!!! So I'm sticking with Stars Pathology by Goljan. The only thing I don't like about Stars Pathology it doesn't have pictures but I just refer to Robbins for pictures.I know everyone says Goljan is the Father of Pathology so I thought this book is good for Path... Has anyone read Stars Pathology and scored really high on USMLE??? Please let me know!!! thanx!

oh i can answer this - i took step 1 last september and got 256/99 with all stars path (well, + brs review book) and no robbin's. stars is SO much better - but be sure and get the review book with it that has all the questions in it. also, get all the goljan review notes - they are in my opinion essential.

Bluedusk, Thanx for the reply! I think I will stick with Stars Pathology after finding out your great score!! congrats!! I also do the review book with Stars to practice questions and also review the BRS. But my other concern was that since there are no pictures in STARS do I need to read another book for pictures? Because everyone says there are so many pictures on USMLE exam...I just wanted to know cuz you did excellent on your USMLE..So please reply back! thanx!
