Hi all ,

Got my result last week, passed!! one more hurdle out of the way! Now have to tackle step 2.

Took my exam in Chicago on June 6th, got my result in 6 weeks.

Used USMLEWORLD and Kaplan CS book. Kaplan cases are thougher then UW, but they make you more confident when you do UW cases.

Bottom line, practise, practise, practise, then go ahead and enjoy being a physician on the actual exam day!! (I must add, one exam that you actually enjoy doing minus the stress and the word Exam with it!!) In all 4 weeks was more then enough prep time from scratch!

Good luck to all.

Hi everyone,

thanks for your wishes. Hamidi and Gollum05, this test is peanuts compared to what you guys have already acheived, passed Step2!!!! Hearty congrats to both of you. Keep in touch even after you've crossed this peanut passage, Love to hear from you.

Sophia1, I just realized that I had a typo, which I corrected with the next message. But you are right, you should contact ECFMG if your result doesn't come this week.

OOOPPS! Actually I took the exam on June 6th not 4th! I think it was a typo on my part.

Anyway Sofia1, check your Oasis for update, the result would be on its way by now. Wish you best of luck.

Hi Hamidi,

you actually are in a much better shape then I was, you have the core knowledge, just practice with your kids and Hubby, My kids Loved this part of USMLE!!!

My 5-year old has started taking a HX and really examining the ENT part!!

Now they want to keep on helping me with step-2, the real stuff!.

This exam is all about acting, the patients are acting and so are you!! Fun way to wind down the USMLE stress (Though I am faaar from it, as step 2 is haunting me)

You'll do just fine, relax and enjoy the only exam that you can actually enjoy. Practise timing yourself, 7 minuts for HX, 5 minutes P.E, 1min to close the encounter and of course 10 minutes for P.N.

Best Of Luck!

Thanks a lot, FH. I have not got it yet. I have contacted ECFMG. It will take 10 business days for them to answer me.What an awful summer waiting for the result!

So you will apply residency this year? Are you an IMG? How do you think about the importance of Dean's letter?

Best wishes to you.

hi

i passed cs (houston)got result on july 13th.

the best tip i can give for the exam is.......u never..never be tensed for theexam as cs is a very simple exam with some things to be done at each station..

1.write the nameof the patient n any abnormal vitals...PAM HUGS LIQOR AA on the right side of the note pad in a vertical order,..think four to five DD,s for the case and write down on the note pad...n reminder for counselling....now ur ready to enter...(may take 45 sec to 1 min)

2.enter the room boldy with a pleasent smile ..do all the basics n ask all PAM....LIQOR AA. and one question for each of the DD u have noted.

3.ask for any concerns

4.physical exam..very fast..with out any basic error...dont waste time much on it..3 to 4 min is more than enough.

5.ending is inportant..

Any one who can speak a lill good with these four steps should pass...eventhough if he lacks time r missed few questions r examination...prepare well for the DD AND PAM HUGS...DONT WASTE MUCH TIME N DAYS for reviewing all books which are available...practice once the examination n few full cases ..thats it..
