Hi Farah :P
whats up my old friend..i miss you dear sad ..by the way i mailed your 2 books yesterday sweetheart  ...
i ve never heard about Bainbridge reflex so far by the way  but i think these would be helpful i find them from web page,i read it,learn it,and now i am posting it to you all guys 8)
Synonyms:
Cardiovascular reflex, right heart reflex.
Increased heart rate due to an increase of the right atrial pressure.
 Posted By: Robert Schier, M.D""The Bainbridge Reflex is one of the ways by which the heart keeps blood
flowing properly. It is important that the amount of arterial blood being
pumped out of the heart to the body equals the amount of venous returning
to the heart from the body. When this does not happen -- when, for
example, the left side of the heart fails because of heart disease -- the
arterial output drops and blood backs up in the lungs and on the venous
side of the heart.

The first chamber of the heart which returning venous blood enters is the
right atrium. If the inflow of venous blood increases, it will enter and
distend the right atrium more. Stretch receptors in the wall of the right
atrium detect this increased stretching and send signals reporting this to
the brain. The brain sends instructions back to the heart causing the
heart rate to increase. This increases the output of the heart and
decreases the amount of blood in the right atrium. This increase in right
atrial stretching (that is, increased venous return) leading to increased
heart rate (that is, increased arterial output) is called the Bainbridge
Reflex.""
i hope this would be helpful...hopefully you are studying well Farah, goodluck

   that was fine  a new Q about it; in tusdata u know the book :!: :!: a sentence; ' decrease of arter pressure to 15-20mmhg makes bainbridge reflex work' right/ wrong? I thouht it was wrong because the streching of atrium makes the reflex work but the book says its true  what u say my lovely friend

i agree with you and i made a further search about it ,find a q asked about this reflex by Dr. Robert W. Gore Dept. of Physiology
College of Medicine,Arizona
Distension of the right atrium due to increased filling will usually cause a sudden_________________in heart rate. This response is known as the ______________reflex.

A.) decrease; Bainbridge
B.) increase; Bainbridge
C.) decrease; Venoatrial
D.) increase; Venoatrial
E.) None of the above
Answer is shown as B

 (referance is Guyton&Hall) increase in atrial filling pressure results in an increase in heart rate

:!: i think in tusdata it was mistakenly writen increase as decrease

you are studying profound grin i am happy for you dear
