well, it actually due to acidosis in case of addisson's disease as H+ ions at high concentrations displace Ca++ from their binding sites on proteins (raising the free levels) without actually increasing the total Ca++ in hyperthyroidism metabolism increases so metastatic cacification as u say may be due to this same effect (dec. in pH) or there may be some ther contributing factors! nonetheless in eirther of these states, metastatic calcification are not of prime importance as much as other conditions or electrolyte changes are
