medusin: iīm a great fan of ER, and recently a friend of mine lent me the first seasson of nip/tuck (itīs very amusing) i like that it shows the cruel, greedy, non ethical part of these plastic surgeons.

Greyīs anatomy i havenīt been able to watch it as a series, i mean i just have watch some 15 min of some episodes.

i think that ER is the most realistic, thrilling (some times they abuse it), and motivating (for me) series of all medical series iīve seen. if you are not a fan of the series , it attracks your attention inmediately , and you are very soon intrigued about the patients and doctors ī faiths at the end of the episodes. i really love it !!

Dr 90210 (even though i really want to be one of these plastic surgeons) it presents us the fancy part of the medicine. (the great medical clinics in sunset boulevard, the houses, the cars , the patients etc) i really like it too.

there is another related TV serie: Everwood, you know, about the neurosurgeon from NYC who moved to Everwood to work as a family doctor, i think it's nice, i personally like more Everwood than the other 3 programs you mention hugehugo. It shows the real love or passion for medicine in general. Nothing to do with the lucrative part of medicine.

smiling face although of course, i'd like to be one of those rich plastic surgeons (Dr 90210) but i won't be surgeon, almost for sure.

hey chema...i understand u took ur cs at houston....where did u stay?....iīve been looking for a couple of hours and it seems that the only place <100/night is the clarion...it sounds like it is quite close from the test center and the hotel looks decent enough...I saw the sofitel is right there at the center, but it is like $130.....Iīve stayed at other sofitels and theyre really nice....any thoughts?...

yes, i stayed there in Clarion Inn. It's 2 or 3 blocks from the center. So it's perfect in my opinion, you just walk 3 blocks and you're there, you don't have to drive or pay a taxi or anything.

no idea about sofitels.

hey noxar, I did my cs in Houston too and also stayed at the clarion; I don`t think there`s a decent hotel nearby that`s under 100 dollars, except for the clarion (tax included though I think I did pay a little over 100 dollars); it`s worth it though; it`s a pretty good hotel and, as chema said, it`s at a walking distance to the test center; you just have to walk a big block and that`s it; another good thing about it is that it has shuttle service to and from the airport; ie. you don`t have to spend money on a taxi. I have other friends that have also stayed there for the same reasons; I really think clarion is your way to go. When are you taking the test after all? good luck!!!

Hvae you guy's seen the other show? I think is called house physician. Very interesting too. They have some very interesting clinical cases there. Like intoxications with antifreeze and how to neutralize it's negarive effects.

Lorena have fun and a nice cold Negra modelo. But most of all enjoy your time!!

Hello guys, hey i have a question. I am now starting the whole california letter process, i know lorena applied to cali and she has given me a lot of help, but since the board evaluates you school -wise, i wanted to know if you guys know someone who went to UdG and applied for a California Letter or is in the process.

i received a phone call today from this hospital in miami...they accepted to take me for a pathology observership in june...im really looking forward to this...I sure need a US LOR..so Im gonna go try my best...... and most defenitively i sure could use the sunny surroundings!!

Lorena...if I remember correctly U are from veracruz....have a great time!.enjoy ur family and get some rest/fun/fun/fun before ur residency=)....Iīve only been to veracruz once, for a medical meeting and I remember this place "villa rica" in boca del rio.....maaaaan what a meal!!...and i am not a really big seafood fan...but it was impossible to ignore....that place is awesome. i suspect u must have pretty amazing seafood in hawaii, and i imagine u must know better "secret" seafood places in veracruz, but that place is really somethin....echate algo a mi saluuud...with an ice-cold victoria,of course.=) have fun!..

Just thought I would post a note to my Mexican group here and let them know that my first trip to Mexico (Saturday, April 8th) was a smashing success. I only had 10 hours on land in Cozumel, but had a blast (even before the tequila kicked in). I will be back. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. The weather was great, the beach beautiful, the sunshine only gave me medium sunburnnod For lunch, I let the waiter order the seafood that was the best that day - wonderful grilled garlic shrimp - yum!!! With a grande margarita!

Even though I kept forgetting "Gracias" and was saying "Danke" - old habits die hard.
