Hey guys! First time I write somthing on this site. But have been following it for quite sometime. I took my Step 1 testerday. As expected, tough, nasty...some of the questions, I had no idea what the diagnosis was, menos the mechanism of the drug indicated in such disease. But anyhow. I belive in GOD and have FAITH...And of course I did study for this one. I am US citizen but graduated from Mexico (Univ. Xochicalco, Ensenada, Baja California), and have a deep affection/love for mexican people. My wife is mexican and my baby boy is mexicrrican (Puertorrican and mexican). Took the Step 1 in 2004, just to see how was it, and obvoisly I did not pass it (69/162). Well now just waiting to get the results. My goal is to get into surgery. Well let's keep our heads up and don't ever give up.

hello Raphymed, I am going to start my residency in Mayaguez Puerto Rico. Good Luck to you in your exams. My fiance is from Canada I am from Mexico(i got my us citizenship long time ago) and perhaps our children will be born in Puerto rico so what will you call them (Canadian-Mexican-Puerto Rican) ? By the way Ensenada is a cool place. I am from Baja too. (Mexicali) Good Luck to you and every Mexican trying to achieve this doable but difficult dream

Damian33 cool. So you are loving PR? I wish I could get a position overthere, but realistically, anywhere is fine, as long as I get into the one specialty I really want. We lived in Chicali for almost a year after me and my wife finished our social service. And our baby boy is Cachanilla. Ensenada is really lovely, I love it. Mexirricadian??? I don't know !!!! Good luck to you budy ! I have family in Ponce and a few frineds that are practicing physician's and/or residents in Ponce and in the south. Now waiting for the results to see how I did on the S1. Hopefully I get that out of the way. I know S2 is not "easy" but truelly believe it is alot easier than S1. By far.

GLO MD sincere congrats. That is a great teaching hospital. rest a little bit because residency, well you already know ,it is tough, because the hours and hard work. Hey raphymed yeah that is a cool . You will pass those exams that is for sure. Puerto Ricans are definitely very nice people. In my program there is not too many for Puerto Rico but the ones there are really good residents and make the residency much better. I will pray for you for great results on step 1,take step 2 as soon as possible. Take care

raphymed, try to get everything done at the latest october. It would be ideal if you can send letters and not have to wait for the MATCH.
