borrelia: I understand you want to apply to FP or anesthesia, 88 is a good score for FP, doubtless (more if you are a GC holder, if you do, just relax, you'll get a FP program at then end). Maybe not that good when you apply for anesthesiol, but in the meantime you just have to get a higher score in the next step. Sabian que en El Paso, Tx supuestamente se celebro el primer dia de accion de gracias (thanksgiving) en lo que hoy se conoce como Estados Unidos?... solo como dato historico. Ya casi es, se agarran buenas ofertas en esos dias.

Glo: I hope you have very good luck in your next interviews, surely you'll do very good, just be yourself, we'll be praying for you. e gomez: I hope the same for you, good luck with your interviews. Chema mr: Don't loose hope, surely you'll get more interviews, good luck. Borrelia: I think your score in setp 1 is fine, just try harder for the next step, that's what I'm doing too because my score in step 1 isn't very good too, so I'm planning to get more than 90 for the next step (I hope so).

Chemamr, GLO MED, egomez, karime.. Thank you very much for your support. I am trying to keep my spirits up, It is a little hard though. It really helped for me to go and visit my folks in Wash DC. I really enjoyed my visit and it got some of the stress off. I have just received the ECFMG certificate! that is the ONLY good news I have this week. I have called ECFMG to make sure they update my file so the programs can download the new update. They said it was already updated and that the programs can easily download the new info. I am hoping I am going to get more IV after this. Do you guys know how often the Programs download new info?.. do they really do it, or is it just once that they do it?.. when I applied I had to put in my CAF that I didn't have the certificate yet. CHemamr - I have GC and don't have to worry about getting a visa (I know it is another headache) I am very thankful I don't have to go through that. Why were you asking?.. do you think is easier to match if you don't have to ask for a J or H visa? As far as applying to different residencies... I thought about it, and I think that this year I will go for my dream. If I don't match, then next year I will apply to IM and FM. I think FM is also a great specialty, but my dream is to do Pulmonary/critical care at the end and it would be like giving up that dream. I think if I don't match I can work really hard to get a good score on step 3, perhaps get an externship and keep working as an RT. Ok, guys... thank you very much for all your advice. Good luck on your IV's ... In DC I was practicing with a friend of mine and I have to tell you some questions can be a little tricky... practice, practice, practice.

Thank you dear tochtli! I will need a lot of prays!! Drawen: Good to hear that you have a GC! It is deffinitely easier to get residency with it because it is more appealing. Also congrats on you certification!!! I'm waiting for it I'll probably get it next month (fingers crossed!). Every program has different ways of managing things but they usually download everyday especially at this point in the match. But today is a holliday in some places so you might have to wait until tomorrow, you can check it at ADTS, to see which programs have dowloaded and which are pending. Once they start downloading info they have to download EVERYTHING that is pending and that includes your new ECFMG report. Hope you get more IV's. I'm still waiting with all my heart for UT houston, that's all I need! Well guys I got to go because I'm looking at the last details before my departure to NY and phili... I'm getting more nervous every second! Do pray for me!! I will pray for all of us in this forum! Take care and see you around!

I asked Borrelia about the USMLE World........I have read for S1 it's more important the Qbank from Kaplan, but I don't know If I should put more effort doing it agoin or doing the USMLE world. What you think? Any advice........thanks!! Let us know guys about your match experiences. And.....let's pray for each other.... See you next time.

Thank you guys for all the support!! Gomez my first IV is this thursday at NY metropolitan. I'm not nervous about that one because I'm not even going to rank that program but I'm going because I want to practice my IV skills since I haven't practiced by myself After that IV I'm taking the train to philadelphia because I have IV at Temple uni on friday. That one I'm really getting nervous about!!! When I got my confirmation mail I could see all the other mails to which it was sent and I got to see the kind of people who is interviewing with me on that day...I got a little scared (yeah right! a LOT scared!) because all the emails were like templeuni, drexel, jefferson, corneeeell!!! OMG and so on!! and gloria.... hotmail.com!!!! jajajajaja OMG!!! and I'm also scared about the dinner with the residents because I have no idea how the atmosphere is going to be like there because it's all the cornell's and me jajajjaa... I'm thinking... what am I going to say?... how should I act?... but you know I am just going to be myself! and I try to think that I'm going to be original and interesting !! jajaja oh well let's see how it goes!! Anyways I'm leaving tomorrow... my plane leaves San Diego at 9 pm and I'm arriving NY at 5 am!!! I did this because I wanted to at least get to know NY a little bit.... I'm planning on visiting the statue of Liberty, the WTC, the empire state building, central park, times square and whatever comes on my way!! I hope I get to see all that I want to see.... I think it's going to be relaxing and exciting to have a whole day just for myself well... just the big apple and me!! jajaja a little of peace before the storm! Allrightie friends see you soon and God bless everyone, wish me luck!!!

GLO I wish you the best of luck! NY is awesome! Try and visit the Metropolitan Musem and Times Square. Btw, one of my friends just interviewed at Temple for med school and she told me that the area is not very nice or safe but that the school and hospital themselves are pretty nice. Please let us know how it goes! Au revoir.

GLO I just asked my friend who went to interview at Temple med and she told me that she stayed with one of the students there. There is this list where the applicants can choose a med student from Temple to stay with them for their interview. I am not sure id this applies to residents but I can check if you want to. I dont think it will be a problem. Please let me know if you would want me to find out. Its totally up to you but thinkabout it. Anyways see ya soon and good luck.

Thank you so much medusin dear! That's so sweet of you! In fact I was worried at the beginning deciding where to stay since I know that staying close to the hospital is not a great idea because it is not a safe neighborhood but then I find out that the hospital pays for a very nice hotel in the nice area of phili so I'm very happy about it! especially now that my porkey pig is broke jajaja oh well! Thank you so much medusin let me know if there is anything that you might need! I would like so much to go to Ny's metropolitan museum especially since it is just 2 blocks away from the hotel which I am staying in but I might not have the time let's see if I can fit it in! By the way guys I am very happy because I just got ECFMG certified today!! So martes 13 was not that bad at all!! jajajaja oh well I got to go know I'll see you guys next weekend wish me luck for my IV's and also send me good vibes so that I don't get lost in the middle of manhattan or something! See you guys soon hopefully with good news! Thanks again medusin! bye

when I do application and choose the number of programs, can I add more programs later on, or just the ones I choose will be set for the pre match interviews. Sorry to ask this questions is because I am applying now with a tight budget, and would like to add more later if possible, but I don't want to be too late. Thanks anybody for their answer.

Hi Ed, yes you can add programs later on..., just make sure the porgrams you apply to are still accepting application, check on their web site under application deadline, GL

Thank egomez and good luck in your interviews, you are going to do great and your credentials are good to back you up. One more question I have everything to be send now, but my LORs are on the way, some they got tem and some that they will get them, and I heard that they take 2-3 weeks to scan. Should I go ahead with the application or wait for them to be finished with the scanning?

I would suggest you apply as soon as possible with a complete as possible appliation..., send the letters that you have now then send the pothers..., most of the programs would not consider your application complete without and x number of LORs on it..., but still if you apply to a program and meanwhile the LORs are getting scanned you don´t have to worry about that because as soon as they are scanned the program will recieve them..., apply!!!... Thanks for the good wishes , Wish you all the best on your application
