Hi new people !!! and everybody!!!

......Let me introduce myself (4 the newbies):I'm 24 years, I'm from Morelos, Cuernavaca (UAEM), I do not have my medical diploma yet, doing my social service, and studying for Step 1. I hope taking it at the end of april 2008....ok....
I had just finished anatomy.....I felt it a little bit easier than statistics, honestly I'm bad in math, next, I'll read physiology.....what do you think....? Is that an adeccuate order?.....I know The most important think is to study, no matter what, but, after finishing physio, I think the next subjetc will be pharma, & then micro&immuno, then bioch, and then patho......After every reading.....I pass to First Aid, and then the Q bank....I've read most people let the Questions at the end, but I think is not a good idea.......but, I don't know, maybe it is........ And, I have not time to see the DVDs.....maybe in my second reading....Oh boy....the time is gold!!!!

Congrats Borrelia, you did it!!!! in your first attempt that is also very important....Keep going!!
COnfe, I'm sorry about your situation, I hope my Facultad won't give me the same problems.
GLO, eGomez, Good luck!!! The match process have not finished.....

And................................that's all
See you then!!!

Yes dear borrelia chin up! Your score is great!, Listen I have friends with a 75 on s1 that are already in residency!! Just pump your step 2! I did not watch all of the videos because there were some that I did not felt that I needed I will tell you which ones I would highly recommend: cardiology, emergency medicine and hematology which are given by Conrad Fisher which is amazing!, nephrology was very good. I also watched pulmonary and neurology. I highlly!!! recommend obstetrics with Dr. Sakala that man is great also! I was terrible at OBGYN (although my father is one rolling eyes ) but those videos changed my life and got really good at it after them. I did not watch endocrinology, surgery, GI, ethics or psychiatry because I did not felt I needed it. And believe me, don't watch pediatrics!! They are terrible I just watched 10 mins of the first video and although I'm terrible at pediatrics it was worthless because the guy just read the books. Also the surgery guy is terrible so don't even try!

Forget about kaplan's qbank for step 2, the real deal is usmle world! Trust us on that one! I also felt like you at the beginning because you are so used to the qbank after you finish step1 that you feel like going back to it for ck but I was adviced by several friends and residents that scored above 95 on ck to do usmleworld and I could not be happier that I listened to them because I truly thank a lot of my score to it.

Hey Gomez! Oh my I am starting to get scared! No I am not preparing for Iv's yet and I don't have a single book! I am practicing my answers in my head and that is about it! jijiji I feel I am very wordy and have good communication skills and my first "calis" was with the PD of Loma Linda and I felt I did pretty good he really liked me but yeah I'm getting kind of scared but I try to stay confident that everything is going to run smoothly (or so I hope =) ) But I will start now because my first Iv's are coming real soon! When is your first Iv or have you got one?

Hey Karime nice to see you! Hope your prep is going well! I was cleaning my room a couple of days ago and from under my bed I found my S1 books and I felt the gitters jajaja I don't want to go back to those ever again! So I deffinitely understang you.

Hey drawen good luck with the PTAL I hated that bastard of a letter! grin also good luck to you and confe on certification I am also waiting for it. I am sorry to hear that your school is giving you so much trouble, and you are right they should know that you are trying to put their name on higher grounds! My school is very understading they even got me my medical diploma in 6 weeks! It usually takes one and a half to 2 years but I talked to them and told them the importance of it and they were really nice and worked hard on getting it for me at the earliest possible. I also think all schools should try to help their graduates achive all their ambitions.

Well guys good to see you all. November is coming...Tomorrow the MSPE is being released, hope that it brings more Iv's for drawen, gomez and myself. Take care and see you soon!

Good morning everyone!!

Yes!.. it is Nov 1st, maybe after today I will start hearing more from the programs I've applied to.

Borrelia, thanks for the URL link, I think It has good information.

I have decided today to look for a job (just a part time), at a hospital of course and I also decided to start studying for Step 3. Any recommendations guys on books that I would need to buy?.. or classes to take?.. I think Kaplan has lecture/conferences but they don't start until March.

Gracias!

  #3456

Drawen, hope we get some invitations soon...

For s3 I used, kaplan ck notes, fa, kaplan s3 videos, uw for mcqs and ccs, if you have time do kaplan qbank and usmlesteps123 for ccs...

  #3463

Hi Paisanos-

Dra. Wen it took me a long time to get my transcript if you have read my previous post !! So from what I read in your email it's better to go then mess with it from here. I appreciate your advice REALLY! I thought it was just my situation anyway going in December let's see if I can get anything done.

Hi Karime-

I'm glad you are starting the process early as you see it can be challenging but don't be discouraged.

Borelia, I wish the best of luck in studying for step 2... I plan take step one in January after the holidays which maybe not a good idea. I'm working full-time so I have no other options but to study during this time.

Glo Md- Any other interviews? Nice to see you around stem cell.

take care all confewink

  #3464

drawen, u can buy the videos at ebay.com or amazon. com, at about 30 usd...

Sorry about the abbreviations smiling face, thanks Glo for the explanationsmiling face

See u around

  #3465

thank you egomez.. I will look for them and see if I can buy them.
Today I did a little more research about the test and I am already getting scared.. I just don't see myself studying like I studied for step 1, but I guess it has to be done.
Do you know if any other site where I can also buy the kaplan notes?

  #3466

confe-
Yes, unfortunately you will have to go to the Carolino, straight to the General Lawyer's office (they have everybody's ECFMG forms there) and explain the situation. I would recommend offering yourself to take the documents to have them translated after they sign them, of course. That way you will save $, because you can have them translated at the "escuela de letras" or any other place and they won't for sure charge you 205 dollars, and you will save A LOT OF TIME! (which is most important).
Good luck!

  #3467

Also try the 2 mentioned above, ebay and amazon, there you can find them for sure...

I know the feeling drawen..., the studying gets cumulative and it gets kind of harder to hit the books..., but step 3 preparation it´s not that hard, the material is a little bit easier to review...

I´m waiting for my resultshocked, should come any time after the 5-6th, I will let you know how I did..., I´m prayingsmiling face
