Hey carnederez9, thanks for the advice, but that's one of the things that I'm not sure about, since the ECFMG booklet says that your name has to be exactly as it is in your diploma, and it gives some examples about names bad written and one of the examples is using the hyphen, and of course in my diploma my name doesn't have an hyphen, so what should I do? Thank you!!!!!

A friend of mine spelled his named hyphenated and he is doing his residency now, so I guess it works. I just used my last name (paternal) and also got certified. So it's up to you

hi to all. Hey carnederez, how's it going with the interviews man? Hope it turns out great. I am using my two last names, maybe ill change it in the future but for now although it's very long, it's just fine. I don't use the dash to separate them. I' ve alredy started preparing for step 2 ck, man it's lot easier to digest this step 2 material, almost done with my first reading. Good luck to everybody.

Hey guys, thank you so much for your advice, I think that I'll use my two last names. Hey about the diploma photocopies that I have to send to the ECFMG, it's just that somebody told me that they have to be certificated (by a notary) and "annotated" and then translated, but the ECFMG booklet doesn't say anything about it, what should I do? Should I certificate and annotate them or just send them translated, I'll appreciate your help. Thanks and good luck to everybody!!!

Jaime, it has to be translated by a Public notary. I think they are certified to do it. you send a copy of the original and a copy of the translation.

Dr Gaxiola Interviews start next week, so i'll tell you all about it when I get back. How's the search for usce, like I said before that is probably the most important factor you can modify other than the scores. Keep it up. Jaime: What I did with my transcript and diploma I had it translated by an official court approved translator who attached to copies of the original and it worked out fine. What took time was for my papers to arrive at my school, you guys know we don't have the fastest mail service, so I would suggest you set up a fedex, ups or whatever account and have ecfmg send everything by the company that will save you time and headaches, and when you're school receives your papers offer to pay for express mail, it shouldn't be a problem, I sure to you it will save you at least 6 months, in my case. Soo good luck And good luck to all on whatever phase you are in.

..... since im the one behind here, having just passed the step 1 and having all this work ahead.......and I wanna get the most from my studying and I´d appreciate you sharing ur experiences......so got one q for u all In what order did u studied the subjects, when preparing to step 2 ck?...i know it sounds kinda silly....but when i searched something similar in step one..there seemed to be somewhat a consensus saying that anatomy and patho should go first (I think I even read that on 1st aid), then biochem, pharm and micro and finally physio an BS for last.....but I havent heard of anything like that for CK....so If u dont mind sharing.....what was the order, if any, in which u studied?...is there a similar "consensus" for ck??? thnx in advanced..... Nox

i haven´t heard anything like that in step 2ck. They say you had better start with YOUR weaker specialities. So i guess there is no an order here.

Hi noxar311 welcome back. By the way i got the exact same score on my step 1. I am also begining my prep for step 2 ck Hey guys and Lorena. Does anybody know about the existence of a goljan audio cd for step 2 ck? I used his audio for step1 and believe me it helped, so i heard that there's a goljan's audio for step 2 as well. DOes any of you know about it? Any info would be highly appreciated. Gracias de antemano amigos.

Hi, that goljan audio for step 2 ck...i dont know if it exists...i tried to get it when i was studying but i never found anything but rumours, later on i started to believe it could just be a "legend" . LOL What i have read though, it is that it is not as good as the audios/material for step 1, which i agree with you -those audios/notes were really helpful for the step 1 test- so i would recommend not to spend too much energy looking for them, they are not essential and with kaplan + usmle world you can kick some major butts. I dont know about an studying order for step 2ck, what i did it is that i studied IM first (my favorite) and then a subject i didnt enjoy too much, then one i really liked, followed by one i didnt like much and so on...it worked for me, hope it helps. today was my last day at the psychiatric rotation!!! we had some cake to celebrate take care guys,

Hi, I want to ask you guys (as you know, i´m participating in this match but things don´t look good, so i want to have a good plan B for the next year) 1)WHICH IS MORE VALUABLE for purposes to get a position in a residency?? -observership -externship -USCE -research as a volunteer 2) Should i focus only in 1 of them or should i focus doing 2 of them? 3) To be valuable: this activities must be in the residency i´m applying to, but what happens if i apply to 2 residencies and my activity (f. ex: observership) is in another residency. Is it useful?

Chemamr, I believe that the most important is an externship (but its also the hardest to get), then USCE (which would be covered with the externship).
