Hi everybody!! I have a question, I am taking the kaplan q bank, it finishes on july, 1 month before my exam, what can I do? do I have to take it again until the date of my exam or other curse, what do you think, thanks a lot.

hi stemcell, if you have only 1 month left, after your kaplan QB expires, it's not a big deal,
during that month, you can keep doing questions with your kaplan Q book, using review books and reviewing your weak areas. The another option (according to your wallet $$) is to hire Usmleworld for 1 month, but you could be busy enough doing the other stuff.

I am not mexican,but I have mexican freinds. hi eldora, are you from Iran? anyways, I see you've been looking for this information for some time in different subforums. I agree with other answers. Just google it and you'll find samples of LORs. I suggest you to make it by yourself, saying peculiar things such as those things you do in your specific observership or good things you've done and have impressed to your professors. Good luck.

StemCell I agree with Chema, doing qs from qbook and reviewing notes, or review books it´s going to keep u really busy and also I think it´s wise to taper on your preparation, so take into consideration buying UW...,

eldora I agree with Chema, u will find good sample LOR and u can suit yourself really nice on the LOR based on ur observer activities

hey chema i would like to know if you applied to surgery this year???
how many invitations did u get? to how many programs did u apply to?
if you dont feel like answering is ok.... i now this are really personal questions i guess....

hi spitmetal: not a problem. Yes I did. I applied to 19 programs of general surgery and got 2 IVs for preliminary surgery.

Thank you soooooo much for all your support. Now , I am making a list about all my mistakes. I think I was very,very nervous and tired. I studied to many hours a month before and I did not take any rest couple days before. Then I did not practice any test in the NMBE. And I just check 1/2 of the USMLE WORLD. So, now I made a schedule. I am starting over again. This is going to take me for about a month a half. Then I will take a practice test and see my weaks areas.
After this one month of Q. in USMLEWORLD. Take another practice test and see my result. Probably I will be taking the test by the end of August.
What do you think about this. ?? I am just studing in Kaplan lectures, BRS for Physiology and Goljan for Pathology. Do you think I will be fine this time.

usmleworld is a very very very good source both for questions and as a practice for the test, when u do it in the 'timed' fashion..i highly recommend it for every step....hey karla if u could get ur hands od the lectures dvd's that would be great..somehow the info flows easier when u see the conference rther that just reading the notes...i know they helped me...i got em from some dude at my school but i know theyre for sale at ebay....and think that for someone like u that has already studied hard for the test, the main issue would be practicing ans many questions as u can....gl

Hi StemCell. I am from Guadalajara but right now I am living in Syracuse , NY. I am going to take the test here in NY. It would be so nice that I will be able to study with somebody . And the good thing is that you are going to take the test at the same time. But, we can be in touch.
I will try to get the videos. But, I am not sure. You know that here in USA the "PIRATERIA" is a big issue.

I think you can't repeat a year of residency (something related with the funds $). So after a prelim PGY1, you should look for a PGY2. I don't think it has something to do with your type of visa, it must apply for any kind of.
any opinion on this noxar, mty, yareli? or lorena, lalo, etc?
