As far I know, ApoE is to recognize the receptors on hepatocytes. That is the way how VLDL, IDL, LDL can be returned to hepatocytes. confused

And can you list those "clear functions of apoAI,CII,B100,B48" ?

chylomicron uptake is mediated by APO-E, not APO-B48 (think dysbeta lipoproteinemia)

APO-B48 is synthesized by intestinal epithelials for lipoprotein assembly which in true sense is similar to APO-B100 except for the fact tht it is comprised of only 48% of mol.wt. of the original APO-B100 (tht's why APO-B48) ;the molecular part tht are missing in APO-B48 is responsible for the uptake by hepatocytes therefore LDL receptor can ony identfy APO-B100 and APO-B48 only has structural role to play in chylomicrons!
