There are two types of cells in Fallopian tube epithelium.

They are: 1. cilindrical with microvili (secretion)

2. cilindrical with kinocilia (motion)

It is thought that both types are in fact the same cell but in different stages of activity. So, it is considered that their ratio depends on the fase of menstrual cycle.

During proliferative (estrogen, preovulative, folicular) fase due to effect of estrogen there are more cells with kinocilia.

During secretory (progesterone, luteal) fase due to effect of progesterone there are more secretory cells. Why? To feed spermatozoa and zygote.
