Hi folks
Has anyone ever got step 1 videos from ebay. I just want to ask how reliable is it or how the sellers manage to get kaplan DVDs.

Yeah ebay is pretty safe. For further protection read the feedback to the seller before you bid for those DVDs. The seller should have a solidly postive feedback from previous buyers.
And it does help some with the peace of mind if you ask the seller all relevant questions about the quality of the DVDs before bidding.
And After bidding you just pray to God that the transaction goes well for you.

eBay its not that safe, whats the matter ppl. You need to watch out for some basic stuff, but its not as safe as just saying: yea sure, go pay for the stuff!
Dont even send cash or wire money, ever!!!
Preferably use paypal > money oder > checks
Dont do business with sellers that have less than 95% positive feedback (CNET tips on eBay trading on www.cnet.com)
Dont buy from sellers without feedback
Dont EVER buy outside of eBay (for example if a seller contacts you after the auction)
If you can, ask for a sample, maybe the video is of very bad quality.
BTW, Ive been buying on eBay for the past 5 years . I have never got a bad experience but I am very carefull. Just a few months ago, someone tried to sell me some laptops and it turned out to be a scam. I find out kinda by chance. I was gonna loose like $5000. You have to be carefull

Thx medalos. Thats good info. Also some will not understand that ECFMG or Kaplan could use disciplinary acition if they happen to decide that "this person purchased BOOTLEG KAPLAN VIDEOS on ebay" IN ORDER TO PASS A CERTIFYING EXAM"!! {Ive said this before there is no easy way thru medicine}

Ebay is safe for the most part. However, everytime I bought something I would first see who is the seller and check out his/her feedback. I've bought hundreds of items there over the years, used Paypal and never had a problem this way. Medalos posted some good tips there for buying from Ebay.
Sometimes it is difficult to be sure 100% about a small seller. Also, pple who sell these DVDs seem to often change their IDs and accounts due to the nature of their shady business. So you just kind of have to trust your gut instincts. When last time I bought some USMLE material on Ebay and after I paypaled the money, the seller was kicked out of Ebay! I was afraid I would lose the money but the seller was honest (toward his buyers, anyway) and shipped the items. I was sorry that I couldn't leave a +feedback for him.
