Hello friends, Took step 1 one july 5. I studied for 5-6 months. My exam was mostly pathophysiology.very little anatomy,Mol biology and micro on my test. the funny thing is that I even had 2-3 question that asked for the approach to a certain patient(step 2 content). I would suggest to all those that are studying for step1 to start first aid early and use that as the foundation of your knowledge and add additional information on top. because there is a limit to how much you remember the day of the exam ,so dont try to know and memorize everything,it's neither possible nor necessary. Master pathology, physiology and pathophysiology. I got a high scores on NBME 1 and 2. hoping for the same score on the actual test. Good luck to everybody Cam

yes I am an IMG. I took NBME 2 weeks before my exam and got 640(247/99). I postponed for 1 week because I felt that I needed to review some subjects.I took the secind nbme 1 week for my exam(new date) and got 640 again. so in the last three weeks.I divided my time by subject 2-3 days for each subject and quickley reviewed kaplan and first aid.I studied at least 13 hours a day in these last weeks. I think the last 2 weeks are verrrrry important. i would suggest you study first aid and MASTER it. and flip through kaplans and read the high yield stuff you feel is not enough in first aid especially pathophys. in the last 3-4 days try to review all of first aid to keep it in your short term memory for the exam. hope this helps Cam

to rm: I was scoring between 60 and 80 %. average of 70-75%. Qbank is a great resource, but sometimes covers not so high yield topics extensively. especially pathology goes too much into microscopic pathology which was not present in my exam to that extent. also sometimes it gets too picky. from my experience I've seen examinees with top scores in step 1 scoring from 60% all the way to even 80-85%. so don't use qbank as a form of evaluating your knowledge rather a resource of study in your preperation. also I highly recommend doing qbank subjectwise. that's the way I did it. I know a lot of people that did it subjectwise and recommended it also. Good Luck Cam

To Ravi It all depends on your background. are you still in school or graduated? In General, I would say No, 3 months is not enough for an Img but it's more than enough for a medical student that just finished basic science in school. For an Img I would recommend 4-5 months. but again it all depends on your background. Hope this helps Cam
