larger doses of primaquine are required(up to 6 mg/kg total dose, compared with > 3.5 mg/kg to vivax malaria). Also use 1500 mg chloroquine (total bae) followed by 315 mg primaquine (total base) for the treatment of vivax malaria, which, in Australia, is commonly treated either without primaquine or with inadequate dosages of either chloroquine or primaquine.

use chloroquine: 1 Gm as initial dose + .5 Gm at 6 ,24 & 48 hrs & then on day 10 & 17. with Primaquine 26.3 mg for 14 days start at 4 th day...

OR

Artemether 3.2 mg/kg IM followed by 1.6 mg/kg for 5 days with Primaquine as above...
