p53 is located on chromosome 17 and can suppress the cell cycle in between G1 and S phase. What is the exact name of the control protein that mediates this transition?

The product of the tumor suppressor gene p53 is a protein of 53 kilodaltons (hence the name).
Also called as Transformation-related protein 53 / TRP53 / TP53
