Hey guys... I finally took my Step2CK just yesterday. Maybe my experience can help some of you guys who will be taking it. I already expected the questions to be long so a few days before the exam I was training myself to read fast. I think this is one of the factors that helped me thru the test... (Or maybe I just read too fast then?) I was able to finish in time to review some of my marked questions. But of course, Kaplan has always trained us not to change answers so I did not really change much.

The subjects were equally subdivided with the bulk being more of IM,OB and PEDIA. I also had a few step1 questions, which were quite easy (BUT DARN, I THINK I FORGOT MY BRACHIAL PLEXUS!) But ck stresses more on diagnosis and "what's the next best step" stuff. Mostly clinical scenarios that contains nonsense normal PE and normal/not so normal labs that WILL CONFUSE YOU... but if you have the answer the case fits right in it!

I particularly would like to salute the Kaplan Notes because that's what I used for my preparation... and I'm praying that it was enough.

The exam was hard because in 1/3 of the questions I always had the dilemma of picking one answer from another... When I sit in for step1 I didn't know what I was getting into, and maybe my frustration after the step1 exam was mainly because of the fact that I expected to know too much. If you sit for these steps thinking you'll know everything... you'll be devastated. So for step2ck, I know that I'd be dealing with questions I may not know, and there will be management issues which I might not be able to deal with correctly. But neverthless I think the most important part is to relax and do your best. Take your breaks! (eases you up...) This what got me to my first step (I got a 92 by the way... and I really expected to fail...) and using it in my CK helped remain calm and composed.

I will be waiting for another freaking 4 weeks for that result and I will be taking my CS in two weeks... Who knows I may have failed or did bad??!! But anyway... as frustrating as it may be after the exam, we just leave it up to God to intervene... I always believe hard work never goes unpaid. To all the rest of you taking your CK in the next few days good luck... if you have any questions just message me...

Hey Trishue,

You're done with it, that's great.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and congratulation for your Step 1!

Best of luck with the CS and after that with the interviews and the match!
