Dear BBB

I am an IMG graduated in 1998.step 1 =75 . step 2 =84. currently doing surgery internship(prelim).

Please let me know 1-if by any chance i can not find a residency program (categurial) next year can I WORK AS A GENERAL PRACTITIONER AND WHAT CAN I DO?

2-DO I HAVE BETTER CHANCE TO GET INTO ANY CATEGURIAL(SURGICAL OR NON SURGICAL) PROGRAM NEXT YEAR SINCE I AM DOING INTERNSHIP RIGHT NOW?WHICH PROGRAMS SHOULD I MOSTLY APPLY FOR?

Most states you will need a license to practice medicine. You can't get that without at least a one to two year residency.

2. Where are you in your internship? US or overseas. That will make a difference. As to which program - that's your call. I can't give you advice on that.

I am doing PGY1 in u.s (it is preliminary).

Do you think this one year will give me this apportunity to practice as a general practitioner?

and will this internship make my resume strunger for next year?

which residencys prefer PGY1IN surgery?
