Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy(dmd) is an x linked recessive disease that causes muscle degeneration and death, age 20-25. Mary and John have 3 sons and 1 daughter, 2 sons...bob and tony are norma but the 3rd son, frank, has (dmd). their daughter ann marries pete who is normal and they one daughter josie. josie then marries henry who is normal and have 1 son hector who has dmd and 1 daughter liz. Construct a pedigree for this family. inside each box or circle, write the geneotypes for each person.

please help me...have no idea..thanks

since 1 son gets it,in the 1st case implies mary was a carrier.(XXd)john may be normal(XY)

2 normal sons will have XY,the 3rd will be XdY.the daughter is most likely a carrier(XXd)as she marries normal pete XY & disease is seen in later gen.only possibility is she is a carrier.

josie will also be a carrier XXd.henry is normal will be XY.i son hector with disease will be XdY.

daughter liz can be normal XX or a carrier. XXd.
