Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how they curve this exam. I took mine in June and I got what must have been 100 +/- 10 cell and molecular biology questions asking obscure things with no clinical importance and the questions in general were just harder, time consuming and more in depth than what my girlfriend said her questions were (we actually managed to remember each and every question). I wonder if anyone knows how they can curve, compare and standardize tests with different percentage of subjects (e.g she had about 50% pathology but I had no more than 15-20%) and also adjust for difficluty between each exam given that everyone has different questions because there is no possible way to write an exam of equal diffculty for everyone. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you everyone.

First time post, lurker for a while.

I'd sure as hell like to know how this is accomplished, too, if anyone has any vague idea. I took my exam on June 14th feeling at least confident that I'd do semi-good, then left with my vestigial tail tucked firmly between my buttcheeks and pissed to high heaven. Needless to say, it seemed a heckuva lot more difficult than any other resource out there that I'd tried. I studied my nutz off and it seemed like nothing I studied was on the exam. Was it that way for anyone else? I studied BRS and First Aid and knew those pretty dang well. I did 100% of the Q-bank questions with 69% average, and did NBME1 and got a 530. If I got anything near what equates to that I'll be tickled to death, but honestly with the exam form I had I couldn't tell you one way or another. It could be a fail, or it could be OK. I got freakin sick to my stomach that night because of how I felt after that evil exam. Dang, I sure wish we got our scores a lot earlier. Friggin Step 1. Step 1 gets a big BOOOOOOOOO from my general direction.

Hi Guys,

I'm searching the answers for those same questions you are asking!
Where did you guys take your exams, in or outside of US ??

Best of luck...

I took mine here in the US. As if you couldn't tell by the wording of my sentences, I'm a hick from Oklahoma. Where the teepees are abundant, the buffalo roam, and the dust bowl abounds. wink sticking out tongue
