secondary protein: 2 conformations (alpha helix or beta pleated sheets) very raw!

tertiary protien: repositioining of these secondary elements in a protein in a 3 dimensional array for some functional significance

quaternary protein: different subunits of protein combined to form a larger one , may be encoded by diff. gene as well eg: trimeric G proteins; mutation in any one of those genes encoding diff. subunits is one of the basis for locus heterogeneity!
