Is it necessary to memorise chemical formulas and structure of substances in order to answer questions from biochemistry on USMLE? I mean, for example, structure of 20 amino acids or substances from TCA cycle.

amino acids structures are worth remembering, jst learn how to identify based upon ppresence or absence or ring strutures or functional groups etc.!
