Hey Crab, Congratulations! The best of luck with everything else! Would you be so kind as to tell me what day of the week did you take the test and where please? It's been 6 weeks since my test day, too, but they haven't reported my score yet. Thank you, and again I wish you the best! A.

thank u & good luck to u all friscan2b i took my exam at chicago on may 11th.the oasis got updated late night on jun 22nd.i'm sure u'd hear good news soon!! my prep was no different from what everybody suggests in this forum.i used first aid & usmleworld for about 3-4weeks.like everybody,i also would suggest a lot of timed practice----coz this is the only way to be confident & have quick reflexes & presence of mind on the day of the exam.if u know what u have to do in the room beforehand only then can u control ur anxiety in front of the SP to a great extent.i totally freaked out in my first case(this anxiety really gets on u )from 2nd case on i would spend about 40-45 seconds on the door, scribble liqoraaa & pamhugsfoss alongwith 1 or 2 possibilities on my blue sheet. with good practice during prep u refexly can decide the physical exam ur going to do on the SP keeping in mind the time constraints.even if ur feeling shaky, greet the SP confidently & politely, shake hands, drape his/her legs with the sheet lying on the stool, sit on the stool, relax & go on.if u start confidently then things go smooth.address every concern of the patient with compassion while following ur own schedule.the idea is not to get stuck anywhere, keep moving ahead with time. inspite of having all this in mind i still made silly mistakes here & there.these mistakes haunted me all through this time, but all is fine now.if i can do it,so can anyone.the prep for this exam is a lot less intense than the other steps.just give it a good shot.cheers!!

Hi crab, Do you think its safe to go take the CS without any external help? like kaplan course. Do you think USMLE world and First Aid are enough for an english speaking foreign student? what do you think is the extent of clinical knowledge that we need to know on this exam? thanks in advance

hi budlight, i recommend (first aid+usmleworld)package as completely sufficient for CS prep.this exam tests very basic medical knowledge & pretty common clinical scenarios.i did not take the kaplan course so can't really comment on its help for prep.but sincerely i feel for "an english speaking foreign student" why spend so much on a course when u have really good options with hardly any expenditure comparatively. just my view. good luck.
