what change in the vascular volume do u expect to see in a patient who inhales lots of hypotonic fluid (eg in fresh water drowning)?

it should increase

because osmotic forces across the alveolar capillary membrane will pull the water into the intravascular space.

remember water across a semi-permeable membrane always moves in such a manner as to normalize the concentration on both sides. so it will move from a region of lower concetration (hypotonicity) to the plasma (hypertonic).

it would increase. Actually this is a mistake in kaplan lecture notes and i posted this question just to draw the attention of everybofy towards it
