Hi ! I did a terrible mistake !...I scheduled Step 1 and 2 when I was working full time and I didn't make it so....I got an Extended Period in both Exams. For cruel reason of Destiny....my husban quit his job and we had to move to Madison WI, looking for a better job so my husband would support me and I would just study. Well.....the time to take the test has arrived and I FEEL NOT READY YET !!!!!! I have been study hard for 1.5 months and I know that I am not ready! I feel pressure and I have been depresed thinking that my husband and family will be dissapointed of me if I don't take it ! What should I do ??? Should I loose $1340 dollars and keep getting ready ? Please, advice me ....sincerely, Patricia R.

Hello Paty, Well for one you should focus on one examn only. Well that is my opinion. Step 1 as it is it tends to be very difficult for most takers. Well maybe you should go for step 2. With the time you have spent studying and prior medical experience you could pass it. But step 1 i do not know how much you know but I think even if one spends a year studying one doesn't feel ready for the usmle. My suggestion go for step 2 and move step 1 for another date!! Well good luck! Enrique

Hi, I'm almost in the same position. My husband is looking for a job. I'm working and studying now. May be you should try your knowledge with some stimulating USMLE CD . I know Kaplan has one . And also you got one from NBME. And when you'll see how many correct answers you can get. May be it helps you to decide. Best wishes for you, Bonnie
