hi
i am an IMG from india...

i've heard that some ppl from my coll dont go for usmle straight away...
( as there is always a risk of rejection of visas..)

instead they clear GRE.. then do some course in public health in US for abt an year or two..
and meanwhile they clear their steps ..
they say its much safer this way..
are the chances of visa rejection actually less this way??

does anyone know of any IMGs doin the same...

does anyone have any idea as to the advantages and disadvantages of this pathway...?

hi hithesh,
even i m an img from india(chennai)i have researced thro this for a long time ,now the visa officers r aware of that and they r rejectiong visas in that way also ,and if u have usmle as the idea then go for the usmle not gre , cause gre is a long process, and more so ever try ur luck in visa ,if u don't get then u can give gre.but noe the chances for visa has increased thats what my seniors say.
all the best hithesh
